More Output

I am currently using a standard high mana spec with decent output. Is the genesis spec worth getting for heroics and the general everyday regulars at my gear level? On regulars I rarely have mana issues. Heroics its another story, but I think I am learning to manage my mana better.

I am looking for ways to improve my healing. We are currently facing a road bloack that is Heroic Yor'Sahj. I feel totally useless this fight lol. I swap to a regrowth glyph, swifmend pets on cd, and use regrowth/healing touch. My group is generally one of the last to die, but I just feel I need something more. Mana is an issue here too as for some reason I never get anything from the Priests when they Hymn.

Is there an ideal make up for healing Heroic Yor'sahj? we have 2 pallies, 2 priests, 1 Shaman, and 3 resto druids in our pool of healers.

Go into detail about what is happening. When and why are ppl dying?

Don't worry about changing your glyph. You can pre hot people before the healing debuff goes out. Also, make sure you are having people assigned to groups, cross healing will fuck everything over. Its much easier for a healer to pick up a group (expect an all melee group, they like take no damage at all during the fight) and then they focus on just those 5 with 2 healers focusing on the tanks.

What Foof said is exactly right and its what I do too (I take groups 1 and 2 which are all mele lol). I rejuv them all and swiftmend one of the mele (woot they are standing in mele range so its like good effervescence coverage) and I regrowth if they start to dip (which is very rare). I think we put a pally and shammy on the tanks and two priests on 3 and 4 each and another druid on 5. Works good.

Make sure your group knows when to kill and when to not kill a mana ord (that blue orb thing that drops after it sucks all of your mana up nomm nomm). Timing that wrong and its a wipe, as you'll enter a high damage phase with heals yelling OOM!!!!

If you don't kill a green, spread out.. The timing should be such that a blue orb is up (and ready to be killed), as the boss eats a green. Spread near the blue orb (DBM shows a radar range thingy, make sure your range is good) and they should kill the blue orb AFTER the drain effect is over so you'll have two orbs up at a time. One almost dead and one that just dropped. Pop, and mana full and there ya go. Its all about timing, knowing what to kill when, and when to spread and when to stack. Keep at it!! Like all fights, once you kill it you will be like WOW that was kinda easy.. and pretty much one shot it every week after lol. Learning is the fun part.

If you aren't getting any mana from your priest's hymn, it might be because you are innervating right away. Hymn affects the 3 (5?) lowest mana targets and if you innervate the minute you are out of mana, your regen from innervate will inevitably mean that you are missing any gains you might get from hymn. I always wait to innervate until after I'm sure Hymn and tide have gone out to ensure that I don't miss any gains I may receive from hymn

I have tried saving my innervate, but end up using it after the hymn goes out becasue I sit at 4% mana and end up getting more back from regen then anything else.

There is a lot going on and I don't think everyone grasps it. I am usually in a ranged group, the mages and warlocks. I try and remeber to rejuv just before the purple hits, I also try to rejuv a pet and swiftmend it as they are using a turtle speced into improved healing for paladins.

I never get melee . I use a regrowth and am glyphed for it, which comes in handy when chasing ranged to the next blob. I try and bomb with healing touch, its just slow >.< to use.

When we only have one Pally in attendance we put the one shaman we have on a tank.

I think out biggest issue is keeping the tanks up. It seems we may be switching over to 2 10 mans to try and progress since attendance is going down.

I feel like I am all thumbs that fight lol.

Our logs may be a clue, not sure what the most current are, but they are under Obsidian Blades.

If anything, its the strat you are using. As said earlier, when a blue orb comes out, let it eat all your mana. After you reach Zero mana, then use Mana returning abilities (Priest hym, innervate, mana tide..anything). You don't need to use them all of course.

You only need a bit of mana, there should not be any damage for a bit but on a tank who should have dedicated healers. This gives you time to mana up. You want to save that blue orb for when another orb comes out. Reason being is if you get another blue orb and you already have one out. As soon as you get drained of all the mana the second time, have a dk grip the orb in to the group and kill it. Walla! 100% mana back.

I still say don't glyph regrowth, it is a waste. I also barely ever use healing touch on the fight either. Another question becomes, what globs are you leaving up and which are you killing?

We have been saving the mana void. Been getting a lot of either back to back blue, or one blue then nothing.

We did do better, I am getting better at healing it. I have low hps, but my group stays alive. The hardests for us now seems to be the double adds. Or a tank popping and killing us lol.

We got him to 25% tonight.

don't worry about your HPS on progression. Just do your best. Once you have it on farm, go for the rankings!!!
