| I'm currently rocking this spec, but find that I'm pretty unsatisfied with Living Seed. I've read arguments for and against it, but I'm kind of at a loss as to how to evaluate whether or not it's working for me. It's a miniscule portion of my healing, but that's really all I get out of our logs. Any ideas for evaluating it a bit more? | |

| I'll play around with the settings later. But yeah, definitely play with the caculator. It will help you decide if living seed is good or not for you by the way your logs are working out.
Living seed is showing .358% for me while all the others are like .129% (the last I checked)

| Thanks for the link! Have started playing around with it, but having issues in that our logs aren't exactly normal at this point. The value of LS varies wildly from encounter to encounter, and will probably only be worse when I look at a different week's logs. | |

| I've written a couple posts on Living Seed, mostly comparing it to other optional output talents like Blessing of the Grove. http://www.cannotbetamed.com/2011/11/07/living-seed-blessing-of-the-grove-and-gift-of-the-earthmother/Your only real options if you drop LS are to put 2 into BotG or Perseverance, or 1 into one of those and 1 into Nature's Bounty. You can't really compare the damage reduction to LS, but I've never found I was at a disadvantage for not having Perseverance, it's not that big of a reduction. If you want to compare it to BotG just look at how much healing LS does on any given fight, divide by the number of points you have in it to find out how much healing it's doing per point. There's a little more math to find out how much healing BotG would provide. First, you need to know that the bonus from that talent stacks additively, not multiplicatively, so it's really only increasing your Rejuv healing by about 1.3% per point, not 2%. Add up your Rejuv healing (both the HoT component and the bit from Gift of the Earthmother), then multiply by 1.3% to see how much healing BotG would provide per point. Compare it to what you get from Living Seed. From a less mathematical standpoint, what is your healing style like? For me, I have 3 points in Nature's Bounty, so my Regrowth crits most of the time, and I use Regrowth a lot. So I get a lot of LS procs and it generally provides more healing for me than BotG would. However, I see that you only have one point in NB, so you'll be getting less procs and it will likely provide you with much less healing than it does for me. | |

| Jasyla, I think it was your posts that got me re-thinking this in the first place. I came off of a year+ druid hiatus for FL, and don't think I was utilizing the class strengths as well as I could have, and in 4.3 so far I still feel like i"m flailing around a bit. I have switched some points around at least once a week since the patch, and my healing group is still playing around with strats, so I don't really have useful logs yet. That said, I almost always use Regrowth on OOC procs (by the time I could get off a HT, the shaman or pally has already healed that person). Based off of Sunday's raid, the LS calc Foofy posted says that NB > BotG > LS. I guess what I need to do now is adjust my spec a bit so I can see if adding a point in NB will increase Regrowth heal % and therefore LS healing, and then go back to the calc with those numbers and see how LS compares to BotG... right? Maybe? I think I just confused myself o__O So anyway, this is what I'm eying to see if I can get more out of Regrowth and LS: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#0hrhZZMfzudMruouo | |

| I totally just logged in to fix my spec. Why? I totally forgot about NB working with Living seed and Regrowth and after my GM said I didn't need to be a moonkin anymore I just threw up a quick resto spec.
Needless to say, I did still enjoy my delicious hot ham and cheese sandwich I made in the microwave while rushing <3

| In my opinion this is a matter of convenience beyond the numbers involved. As a 10man healer I often dump my OOC-powered regrowths on tanks although I mostly focus on the raid; Living Seed helps stabilizing the tanks' health, and on some DS fights it really helps even though the numbers aren't that impressive. | |
